Double Page Spread Copy

This is the original image of my 1st page of the double page spread I am copying.

I copied the outline of all of the text and illustrations and scanned it into photoshop. I applied threshold to the image (only black and white) to make make later processes easier.

I filled all the letters and illustrations with black. Some of the lines of the drawing weren't attached therefore I had to use the pencil tool to connect them before filling.

To align the text and illustrations I used the marquee tool to select and delete the excess black.

I used acrylic paint and a sponge to create the textured look of the original piece. I put this into photoshop and applied threshold.

I deleted all of the black that I had originally edited onto the page, and placed the textured image behind it, which showed through the top layer as though it is a stencil.

To edit the colours I selected a certain section on the textured layer; for example the 'S' as shown below. I used the magic wand to highlight the black and entered "shift and backspace' into the the keyboard which brings up the colour settings, shown on the image below. I then used the eye drop tool to pick out the exact colour from the original image I am replicating.

I put each different coloured section onto a different layer to simplify the process and further editing if I want to do so in the future.

This is my finished copy of the first page.

This is the second original page I copied.

I used the same process as the first to replicate the second page. This is my own copy.

This is the original double page...

...and this is my copy of the double page spread.
